Dar Chams Tanja, in Tangier (1-4); fully re-built, great location in the medina, beautifully run.
Riad El Yacout in Fes (5-8); a genuine riad with character just inside the medina, but always a bit dark and cold and things not working.
Kasbah Xalucca in Erfoud (9-11). Modern kitschy, themed after a kasbah, enormous buffet, but no water till 4am the next day.
Auberge Tombouctou in Merzouga (12). Similar kitschy themed, complete with film stars and crew but no decent food.
Kasbah Xalucca Dades in Boumalne (13-15). Same themed approach, nothing special, but their lounge up top was nice, and good views from the room.
Dar Kamar in Ouarzazate (16-24). Original restored former courthouse. Good facilities, great rooftop area, wood fire, attentive owner, excellent all round.
Riad Hida in Ouled Berhil (25-47). Beautiful gardens of citrus, palms and cacti, we had the amazing "royal" suite of rooms (yes, those are all our suite of rooms!).
Palais des Roses Agadir (48). Big, good quality resort hotel, enough said.
Riad Mimouna in Essaouira. Riad built into the sea walls on the edge of the medina, interesting, decent, great rooftop (49-52).
Hotel Hivernage in Marrakech (53). Pretentious 5-star, restaurants were bad news, service problematic.
